Healthcare and Life Sciences Leader in the Office of the CISO, Google

Bill Reid is the Healthcare and Life Sciences Leader in the Office of the CISO at Google Cloud, where he advises healthcare and life sciences organizations. His focus areas include operational resiliency, cyber public health, Operational Technology (OT) security, and applying Artificial Intelligence to advance security and threat modeling practices.

Before Google, Bill served as CISO and VP for National Resilience, establishing and leading the Security (Physical, IT, and OT), Privacy, and Compliance organizations for the bio-manufacturing company. Previously, he was CISO for Amazon Care, where he built the security and privacy teams for the telehealth service's launch. At AWS, he also led the AWS Security Solution Architecture team and co-led the global security community of practice.

Earlier in his career, Bill held CISO roles at healthcare technology and medical device companies. At Microsoft, he led a Consulting Services payer and provider practice, contributed to the Trustworthy Computing initiative, and served as Director of Product Management for Health Solutions Group, managing HealthVault and a joint development project with the Mayo Clinic. He began his career in healthcare administration at Group Health Cooperative (now Kaiser).

Bill is a Fellow of both the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He currently serves as a Commissioner for DirectTrust.
